This recording represents the first and only vinyl L.P. that i.e. ever released. Although the recording of Endorphin Stimuli predates that of Art for War's Sake, this release also marks the 'official' transition from 'The Illuminous Exodus' to simply 'i.e.' for the members of both bands. The liner notes on the back sleeve of the L.P. written in a sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek manner, did sincerely laud the musicians involved while alluding to the aspirations for the SIDnth synthesizer that appears here, on a few previous recordings and on many subsequent recordings. The liner notes also alluded to the aspirations for the fledgling company envisioned to manufacture the SIDnth. The two sides of the album originate from different sessions and exhibit a unique sound unto themselves, a musical adventure unified only by common eastern sounding motifs, and heavy use of purely electronic sound textures, many of which were produced by the SIDnth I prototype, appearing throughout.
