Perfect for late nights, one may describe these duets, 'chamber', and philharmonic orchestral arrangements as pseudo-classical modernist improvisations. 'i.e.' or not 'i.e.'? That is not so much the question as is: Does this initiate an emergent garage-modernist-classical genre? For the artists themselves, this album represents a departure from the earlier 'i.e.' heavily electronic organized sound work. Oblivious if not absolutely adverse to post-modernist minimalist sensibilities, these recordings made between July 4, and July 13, 1992 never cease to engage and intrigue...
